Consulting Terms and Conditions

The contracting parties

Engagements are concluded between LEGACY MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS LTD, Companies House No. 17431316, at 514A Welford Road, Leicester LE2 6EN, and the client stated on the proposal.

When the engagement starts

A proposal remains open for acceptance for twenty-one days from issue. The engagement exists when the client confirms in writing, or instructs commencement by email; spoken agreement shall not suffice.

Adding to the scope

New tasks run only under a written variation both sides have agreed before the task starts. What is mentioned in passing does not create work.

Money and due dates

Fees are in pounds sterling, invoiced per the proposal schedule and payable within fourteen days. Late sums attract statutory interest and recovery cost under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.

Moving appointments

Appointments cancelled at least 48 hours ahead are moved without cost; shorter notice may reasonably carry a charge for the reserved time, notified in advance.

Discretion on both sides

Materials, reviews and figures concerning the client's business remain confidential beyond the closing date of the engagement, in both directions.

Responsibility, bounded

Liability is limited to the fees actually received for the portion of the work concerned; indirect or sequential loss is excluded where the law allows. The cap does not touch liability for death or injury through negligence.

Law of the engagement

England and Wales law governs, with jurisdiction of the ordinary courts. Concerns go to the office in writing first so they can be looked at before they become disputes.
